Gudrun Gísladóttir kommer igen til Blossom Quilt ✂️

Til oktober får Blossom Quilt igen besøg af Gudrun Gísladóttir fra GE Designs — quiltedesigner, underviser og kvinden bag de populære Stripology-linealer fra Creative Grids.

Gudrun var også på besøg hos Blossom Quilt sidste år i august, hvor hun viste os, hvordan vi kan bruge Stripology-linealerne på en både effektiv, præcis og ret sjov måde.

Og jeg må bare sige: Vi har slet ikke fået nok af Gudrun 😊

En del af jer gik forgæves, fordi foredragene hurtigt blev fuldt bookede. Derfor er Blossom Quilt også virkelig glad for, at Gudrun har lyst til igen at lægge vejen forbi Danmark.

Hvis du allerede har en Stripology-lineal liggende, men føler, at du kun har kradset lidt i overfladen, så er det her weekenden for dig.

Og hvis du er nyere patchworker og gerne vil lære gode teknikker fra starten, så er det faktisk også weekenden for dig.

For Stripology handler ikke kun om at skære strimler.

Det handler om at gøre skærearbejdet hurtigere, mere præcist og meget sjovere.

Med Stripology-linealen kan du skære flere ens dele ad gangen uden at skulle flytte linealen hele tiden. Det sparer virkelig meget tid, men det giver også mere præcision i dine skær.

Og så er der altså noget ret tilfredsstillende ved at se en hel bunke stofdele ligge klar — skåret pænt, ens og uden at man har flyttet linealen 117 gange.

Men Stripology-linealerne kan meget mere end 2½ inch strimler.

Og når Gudrun viser det, bliver det virkelig som en leg.

Hvad er Stripology?

Stripology er Gudrun Gísladóttirs linealsystem. Linealerne har skæreslidser, så du kan skære flere ens dele uden at flytte linealen hele tiden.

Det lyder måske enkelt. Men når man først står med 48 strimler, 96 firkanter eller en hel bunke ens dele, så giver det virkelig mening.

Er det kun til strimler?

Nej — og det er næsten det bedste ved det.

Stripology-linealerne kan bruges til meget mere end strimler. Du kan blandt andet skære firkanter, rektangler, trekanter, romber og trimme blokke, så de bliver mere præcise.

Det er også derfor, Gudruns workshops er så spændende: Du lærer ikke bare at bruge en lineal. Du lærer en måde at tænke skæring og præcision på.

Hvorfor er linealerne smarte?

Fordi de kan spare dig for virkelig meget skæretid — og samtidig gøre skærearbejdet mere præcist og mere overskueligt.

Du skal ikke flytte linealen for hvert eneste snit, og det gør en kæmpe forskel, selv om det virker som en lille ting. Både for præcisionen, for tempoet og for humøret ved skærebordet 😉

Gudrun Gísladóttir is returning to Blossom Quilt ✂️

This October, Blossom Quilt will once again be visited by Gudrun Gísladóttir from GE Designs — a quilt designer, teacher and the woman behind the popular Stripology rulers from Creative Grids.

Gudrun also visited Blossom Quilt last August, when she showed us how to use the Stripology rulers in a way that’s efficient, precise and quite fun.

And I just have to say: we haven’t had nearly enough of Gudrun 😊

Some of you were left disappointed because the talks were quickly fully booked. That’s why Blossom Quilt is absolutely delighted that Gudrun is keen to visit Denmark again.

If you already have a Stripology ruler but feel you’ve only just scratched the surface, then this is the weekend for you.

And if you’re a newer patchworker and would like to learn good techniques right from the start, then this is actually the weekend for you too.

Because Stripology isn’t just about cutting strips.

It’s about making the cutting process faster, more precise and much more fun.

With the Stripology ruler, you can cut several identical pieces at once without having to keep moving the ruler. It really saves a lot of time, but it also gives you greater precision in your cuts.

And there’s something quite satisfying about seeing a whole pile of fabric pieces lying ready — cut neatly, uniformly and without having to move the ruler 117 times.

But the Stripology rulers can do much more than just 2½-inch strips.

And when Gudrun demonstrates it, it really is child’s play.

She’s coming to Blossom Quilt to hold two full-day workshops and a talk, where you can learn the techniques directly from her.

What is Stripology?

Stripology is Gudrun Gísladóttir’s ruler system. The rulers have cutting slots, so you can cut several identical pieces without having to move the ruler all the time.

It might sound simple. But once you’re left with 48 strips, 96 squares or a whole pile of identical pieces, it really makes sense.

Is it only for strips?

No — and that’s almost the best thing about it.

Stripology rulers can be used for much more than just strips. Among other things, you can cut squares, rectangles, triangles, diamonds and trim blocks to make them more precise.

That’s also why Gudrun’s workshops are so exciting: you don’t just learn how to use a ruler. You learn a way of thinking about cutting and precision.

Why are the rulers so clever?

Because they can save you a great deal of cutting time — whilst also making the cutting process more precise and easier to manage.

You don’t have to move the ruler for every single cut, and that makes a huge difference, even though it seems like a small thing. It improves precision, speed and your mood at the cutting table 😉

Is Stripology only for experienced patchworkers?

No. Quite the opposite!

If you’re new to patchwork, you can learn good cutting habits right from the start.

If you’re an experienced patchworker, you can discover new shortcuts, achieve a better flow and learn more techniques to use in the patterns you’re already sewing.

Practical information

If you choose to book both workshops, you’ll get free entry to the talk on Saturday afternoon, as well as a discount of 400 kr on the price of the two workshops.

Here’s what to do:

Register for one workshop and pay. The price will be 1,800 kr.

Register for the second workshop and enter the code sent to you in your registration confirmation. The price will be 1,400 kr.

You do not need to register for the talk – a place will be reserved for you.

How to sign up for a course - chose one of the courses below:

- Click the “Tilmeld” button
- Fill in the information (first name, last name, address, ZIP code (Type 3460), municipality (select Rudersdal), email, cell phone number, and date of birth)
- Click the “Næste” button
- Select “Netbank” as your payment method

You will automatically receive an email with an invoice. Reply to email with the invoice - it will be sendt to LOF-Skolen. We will send you LOF-Skolen’s IBAN and BIC code. Please include your name in the payment details. The price will be listed on the invoice in Danish kroner. If you wish to register for both workshops, the procedure is the same for the second workshop. Please mention in your email to LOF-Skolen if you are attending both workshops.
